Andalucia, Spain
with Frank Camorra and Sue Jenkins

Spend 10 days with Frank Camorra in this beautiful region of Spain – Andalucia. This is the area that Frank grew up in and this tour will reflect that connection. We will be staying in a carefully restored 200 year old olive mill in rural Andalucia, surrounded by mountains and olive trees.
20 minutes from the Villa is a beautiful baroque town of Priego de Cordoba and we are lucky enough to be there when the local feria will be held. We will be part of a real celebration of Spanish culture, flamenco, parading horses and the Spanish men and women dressed in their finery. This is also the area that Frank’s restaurants’ sources its olive oil from and we will meet the producers and visit the mill.

There is a fantastic old market in Antequera where everything is locally sourced and is also home to a wonderful local restaurant – Coso San Francisco. The chef and owner is a good friend of Franks’ and she prides herself on investigating the traditions, recipes and ingredients of the local area.

In Aguilla de la Frontera we will visit the local winery producing PX and have private access to their exceptional museum, not usually open to the public. This museum has artefacts dating back to the Romans and treasures of the Moorish occupation of Spain. An amazing experience.

In Ronda, part of the group called the white villages, the town is perched on a gorge connected by a spectacular bridge. Here we will have a walking tour, visit the bull ring and the museum – the oldest in Spain. We will lunch in the neighbouring white village, Zahara de la Sierra and visit the local sheep milk production. Some of the best cheeses of Spain come from here.

No visit to this region would be complete without seeing Franks’ home town, Cordoba. Local bodegas, markets, a walking tour visiting the patios, the best tortilla bar in Spain and of course the Mezquita. The food is inspired by the rich culinary legacy left by the Moors but in a modern Spanish style.

We will lunch in Malaga on the beach – fish skewered on bamboo and cooked over fire. This is also the home to the Picasso museum and an incredible market that still has the walls built by the Moors.
We will take a day trip to the jewel of Andalucia – Seville where we will take a tapas tour and visit the traditional gypsy neighbourhood of Triana. We will also take a day trip to Granada to see the sprawling beauty of the palace of the Moors – the Alhambra.
There will be plenty of time to relax, enjoy the villa and its surrounds and spend time in the kitchen with Frank.

The price is $10,900.00 per person and includes all meals, wine, accommodation and excursions. Land content only and limited to 10 people. We are now taking deposits to secure your place.
